This policy explains what information Period Tracker (the "app") collects, how it's used, and what choices you have. It applies to the Period Tracker app on Android and iOS, not to any third-party site or app you reach by tapping a link from within it (such as our Play Store developer page).

Summary

Your cycle data — the dates, notes, and anything else you log — is stored only on your own device and is never sent to us or to anyone else, because we don't operate a server for it. The only information that leaves your device is standard advertising/technical data collected by our ad provider, Google AdMob, and it is never linked to your cycle data or your name. The sections below cover this in full detail, including what you can do about it.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

  • Your name (optional, entered during setup or in Settings) — used only

to personalize greetings inside the app.

  • Cycle data you log — period start/end dates, flow intensity, and any

notes you add.

  • Preferences — reminder times, theme, and language.

All of the above is stored exclusively in a local database on your device. We do not receive it, store it on any server, or transmit it anywhere — with one exception: if you choose to use the app's Export feature, it creates a backup file that you then share, save, or store wherever you choose — at that point it's outside our hands and yours to manage.

1.2 Information collected automatically via advertising

The app shows ads served by Google AdMob, including optional rewarded ads (for example, to unlock extra home-screen-widget days). To serve, measure, and (where you've allowed it) personalize these ads, Google AdMob and its advertising partners may automatically collect:

  • Device and advertising identifiers (such as your Android Advertising ID,

or Apple's IDFA where you've granted tracking permission)

  • General device and technical information (device model, operating

system version, general/coarse location such as country or region, language)

  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, rewarded ads completed)

This information is collected and processed by Google, under Google's own privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) — not by us. It is never linked to your name, your cycle data, or anything else you type into the app; our app has no way to connect the two even if it wanted to, since the ad SDK and the local database are entirely separate. On iOS, this only happens if you allow it via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; on Android, you can reset or limit ad personalization in your device's Ads settings at any time.

We do not use any analytics SDK, crash-reporting SDK, or tracking SDK beyond Google AdMob. We have no user accounts, no login, and no backend server of our own.

2. How We Use Information

  • To personalize the app for you (your name, your predictions, your

reminders) — computed entirely on your device.

  • To show ads, including rewarded ads where you opt in to one.
  • We do not use your cycle data, notes, or name for advertising,

profiling, marketing, or any purpose beyond making the app work for you.

3. Sharing and Sale of Information

We do not sell your information, and we never will. We do not share your cycle data, name, or notes with anyone, for any reason — we technically can't, because we never receive it in the first place. The only information that leaves your device is (a) the advertising/technical data described in §1.2, which goes to Google AdMob to serve ads, and (b) your own manually-exported backup file, which goes only where you choose to send it.

If we were ever required by law to disclose information, we have none of your cycle data to disclose, since we never collect or hold it.

4. Data Storage, Retention, and Deletion

All app data lives in a local database on your device, protected by your device's own operating-system-level storage protections. It stays there until you remove it yourself — by deleting individual entries in the app, using "Delete all data" in Settings, or uninstalling the app (which erases the local database completely on both Android and iOS).

Exported backup files are your own responsibility once created. We have no way to access, retrieve, or delete a file you've exported and shared or stored elsewhere, since it never passes through us.

5. Your Choices and Rights

  • Export your data as a backup file anytime, from Settings.
  • Import a previous backup file.
  • Delete individual entries, or all data, from within the app.
  • Limit ad personalization via your device's ad settings (Android) or

by declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt (iOS) — you'll still see ads, just less targeted ones.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, deletion, or objection) over the advertising data described in §1.2. Because that data is collected and held by Google, not us, those requests are best directed to Google directly — see https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://adssettings.google.com.

6. Children's Privacy

Period Tracker is not directed at, marketed to, or knowingly used by children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 (or a higher age where local law requires it). If you believe a child has provided information through the app's advertising SDK, contact us at the address below and we'll take reasonable steps to address it — we hold no cycle data or personal information of our own to delete, since we never receive it.

7. Sensitive Health Information

Menstrual cycle information can be treated as sensitive personal or health information under the laws of some places. The app is built around that: your cycle data never leaves your device unless you export it yourself. If you choose to export, share, or back up that file to cloud storage or anywhere else, its privacy and security become your responsibility from that point on — treat it the way you'd treat any other personal health record.

8. No Medical Advice

Period Tracker provides estimates and predictions based on the dates you log. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Predictions can be wrong, especially with irregular cycles or a short logging history. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, contraception, or fertility planning — don't rely on this app for either.

9. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law: the app and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for any damages, losses, or consequences — including reliance on any prediction, reminder, or exported data — arising from your use of the app, to the maximum extent the law allows. Nothing in this policy limits any right that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. International Users

The app has no server and does not itself transfer your personal data internationally, because it does not collect any. If you're located outside the country where our advertising partners process data, their own privacy policies (linked in §1.2) govern any international transfer of the advertising/technical data described there.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy — for example, if we add features, change advertising partners, or as laws change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever we do. For significant changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to bring them to your attention, such as an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
