Live Note — Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 3, 2026

Live Note ("the app") is developed by OSDev. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.

Summary

  • Live Note doesn't require an account and never sends your note content anywhere.
  • Your note and archive are stored only on your device.
  • The app shows banner and optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob — the only third party involved.

Information We Collect

Live Note does not collect, transmit, or store your note content on any server. OSDev never sees what you write.

The following stays entirely on your device:

  • Your Active Note and Archived Notes
  • Your appearance and app settings
  • Widget data — shared on-device between the app and its widget through the operating system's own app-group / shared-storage mechanism, never sent off the device
  • How many days of widget/Live Note "unlock" time you currently have — a timestamp stored only on your device, extended when you watch a rewarded ad; not tied to any account or server

If you use the Share or Export feature, you choose where that data goes (a messaging app, a saved file, and so on). That transfer happens through your device's own share sheet, outside of Live Note's control, and is covered by the receiving app's own policy — not this one.

Notifications

Live Note asks for notification permission to display your Active Note in your notification shade, and — on Android — to keep it visible via a foreground service while it's live. This is entirely local: Live Note has no server, so nothing is pushed to your device from outside.

Advertising

Live Note shows banner and rewarded video ads through Google AdMob. Watching a rewarded ad is optional and adds unlock time for the widget and Live Note (see above) — declining or skipping one just means unlock time isn't extended, nothing else changes. AdMob may collect device identifiers and other information to serve and measure ads, and may use that information for ad personalization, subject to your consent choices where required (for example, under GDPR in the EU/UK, or CCPA in California). This collection is governed by Google's own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Data Deletion

You can clear everything Live Note has stored at any time via Settings → Delete All Data. Uninstalling the app also removes all locally stored data.

Children's Privacy

Live Note is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
