Privacy Policy for Link

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Link ("the app") is developed by Omran Soliman ("we," "us," "the developer"). This policy explains what happens to your data when you use Link.

The short version

Link works entirely on your device. There's no account, no cloud sync, and no server run by us that your saved content passes through. The only outside party involved is Google AdMob, which shows the app's ads.

What Link stores, and where

When you save a link, Link downloads that page and extracts a clean, readable version of it, entirely on your device. The result — the article text, images, your folders, and your app settings — is stored locally in the app's own storage on your phone. We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or has access to any of this. If you uninstall the app or use the "Delete All Data" option in Settings, this data is gone.

Fetching the pages you save

When you save a link, your device requests that page directly from the website it's hosted on — the same as if you opened it in a browser. That website will see the request the same way it sees any visitor (its normal web server logs, e.g. IP address and standard request headers). This is inherent to fetching a web page and isn't something Link or its developer collects, stores, or has access to.

Content you choose to save

Link is a general-purpose tool for saving and reading web pages that you choose. We don't review, moderate, endorse, or have any visibility into which pages you save — that stays entirely on your device, as described above. It's your responsibility to make sure any page you save is one you're actually permitted to access, store, and read — for example, that it isn't paywalled or otherwise restricted content you don't have the rights to, and that saving or reading it is lawful where you live. We aren't responsible for the content, accuracy, legality, or behavior of any third-party website you choose to save with Link, or for how you use the app or the content you access through it.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Link shows banner ads, and an interstitial (full-screen) ad when you open a saved link to read it, through Google AdMob to keep the app free. AdMob may collect information such as advertising identifiers, general location derived from IP address, and ad interaction data, and may use it to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. This collection and processing is done by Google, not by us — we don't receive or have access to this data ourselves. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Import and export

The Export feature in Settings creates a backup file containing your saved links, folders, and content, and hands it to your device's normal share sheet so you can save it wherever you choose (local storage, cloud storage, email to yourself, etc.). We don't upload this file anywhere ourselves. If you choose to store or share that file somewhere, that transfer is governed by the privacy practices of wherever you sent it, not by us.

What we don't do

  • No selling of data — we don't have data to sell

Children's privacy

Link is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app includes AdMob (banner and interstitial ads), [confirm AdMob's child-directed-treatment / Families settings are configured appropriately for your intended audience before launch].

Your choices

  • Delete an individual saved link at any time (moves to Trash, permanently removed after 30 days, or immediately via "Delete Forever" in Trash)
  • Delete everything at once via Settings → Delete All Data
  • Export your data at any time for your own records
  • Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
